The General Assembly of the Congregation of the Sons of the Immaculate Conception began in Seveso, Milan, with the arrival of delegates from different jurisdictions, a sign of the Congregation’s unity across regions.
The Holy Mass (which was not the inaugural Mass) was celebrated by Fr. Pierre Sampula at 6:45 p.m., followed by Vespers led by Fr. Benny Mekkatt, the Superior General.
Then, at 8:00 p.m., the assembly delegates gathered for dinner in an atmosphere of fraternity.
According to the schedule, the introductory meeting took place at 9:15 p.m., during which the Superior General invoked the divine presence, welcomed everyone, and explained the proceedings for the coming days. Afterwards, Fr. Pierre Sampula presented the working document, highlighting its importance. Finally, Fr. George Parecattil drew everyone’s attention to certain logistical aspects.
The day’s sessions concluded with a thanksgiving, in the hope of a fruitful continuation of the Assembly.
